The Flavor of Salt

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men". Matthew 5:13

A scripture can inspire an artist in quite unusual ways. In this video you can see how this verse influenced me:

And here is what salt miners in Poland created: Please open the link below and take a look at the Wieliczka salt mine and the art made by salt miners. I love that even the chandeliers are made from rock salt.

  1. In 2 minutes, I went through all the emotions of anticipation of the beauty of the salt as it filled the circle. Then the anxiety of people walking on its beauty. The poignant truth of the verse that the salt could never be returned to its original state of beauty, saltiness.
Very powerful. Must have been for your "Taste and See" exhibition.
Sorry I missed participating in it and seeing it, especially the salt installation.

  2. Oh Debbie, I believe that there will be a day we will meet in person. Thank you for your kind remarks.

  3. This video was absolutely moving. I believe that we serve an extremely creative God and your video helps to personify just how creative he is in getting his message across. Thank you!

  4. Thank you Patrick. That creative God you mentioned, He is my father.
